It is reported that this summer camp attracted more than 120 mathematics and computer science enthusiasts from 27 high schools across the country. Over the course of two weeks, students experienced the infinite possibilities brought by the combination of mathematics and artificial intelligence, from basic mathematical theories to practical applications of machine learning, and then to artificial intelligence practical exercises and competitions.

At present, many countries in the world are developing artificial intelligence, and numerous international technology companies are investing unprecedented amounts of funds in the development of artificial intelligence. How can China achieve innovation breakthroughs in such a severe competitive environment? The fundamental advantage that enables us to compete with the United States lies in our talent resources, especially young talents. The essence of artificial intelligence lies in data processing, and its essence and core are mathematics. "Qiu Chengtong, the initiator of the summer camp, dean of the Truth Seeking Academy at Tsinghua University, director of the Qiu Chengtong Mathematical Science Center, and dean of the Yanqi Lake Applied Mathematics Research Institute in Beijing, said that in order to better support the cultivation of innovative talents in artificial intelligence, the Yanqi Lake Applied Mathematics Research Institute in Beijing has increased its efforts in talent introduction and established an artificial intelligence research institute.

Li Yi, Deputy Secretary of the Education Working Committee of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee and Director of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, stated that in the future, Beijing will continuously expand its training space and explore the construction of an independent training system for top-notch innovative talents that organically connects high schools and universities in more fields. He encouraged his classmates to make good use of the educational resources in the capital, explore independently, and deepen the awareness of cultivating new quality talents.
